Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has finalized a highly anticipated move to Turkish football powerhouse Galatasaray SK in a blockbuster deal valued at €75 million, officially ending his stint with Serie A side Napoli.
The 26-year-old landed in Istanbul on the evening of Wednesday, July 30, 2025, to a hero’s welcome, as thousands of Galatasaray fans thronged the airport to celebrate his return.
Galatasaray announced Osimhen’s arrival on social media, sharing videos of his touchdown and photos from the crowded airport reception.
The club had earlier built up anticipation by teasing the transfer and even livestreaming the Nigerian international’s flight to Istanbul, further fueling fan excitement.
Osimhen had spent the 2024/2025 season on loan at Galatasaray, impressing the club’s hierarchy enough to pursue a permanent move.
The agreement with SSC Napoli reportedly includes an upfront payment of €40 million this summer, with an additional €35 million due in 2026. A further €5 million in performance-related bonuses brings the total package to €75 million.
Having played a pivotal role in Napoli’s 2023 Serie A title win, Osimhen departs Italy as one of Europe’s top strikers. His return to Galatasaray represents a major boost for the Istanbul club ahead of their upcoming domestic and European campaigns.
