Nollywood actress Ruby Ojiakor has taken a firm stand in response to critics questioning her decision to have her wedding ceremony at St. Philips Anglican Church, the place of worship belonging to her husband. In a heartfelt message shared on her social media, Ruby addressed the backlash, particularly from fans who were surprised by her choice especially considering her well-known roots as a devout Roman Catholic. “Yes, I wedded at St. Philips Anglican Church… My husband’s church,” she began, making it clear that the decision was personal, intentional, and rooted in mutual respect. Responding to those who suggested the wedding should have taken place in the bride’s church instead, she added: “And for those of you saying it’s wrong, that it’s supposed to be in the woman’s church, please when it gets to your turn, you can do as it pleases you, ok?” Ruby went on to emphasize the value of love, unity, and family structure in her marriage. “As for me, I wedded in my husband’s church because he married me in full and he’s the head of the family,” she stated proudly. In a deeply affectionate tribute to her spouse, she added, “My king I love, adore, and respect so much. God bless you all and stop dragging me unnecessarily. LOVE STORY WRITTEN IN HEAVEN. TWO HEARTS… ONE SOUL. JESUS WE LOVE YOU.” Her post quickly stirred up discussion online, particularly among religiously inclined fans who questioned the transition from Catholicism to Anglicanism for the sake of marriage. But Ruby’s unapologetic tone and clarity of conviction made one thing evident: her love story is built on mutual respect, not rigid tradition. The actress’s bold response is being hailed by many as a refreshing reminder that spiritual choices in marriage are deeply personal and that love, above all, should lead the way.
