The Zamfara State House of Assembly has passed into law, a bill seeking to promote children and younger persons’ education after serious amendments to the bill.
The House noted that the bill was a private one but sponsored by a member representing Maru North in the state House of Assembly, Hon. Yusuf Alhassan Kanoma.
WAFFITV reports that initially, the bill generated heated arguments among the lawmakers during last week’s plenary which resulted in its rejection by the members until certain corrections and amendments are effected.
However, a member representing Bungudu West, Hon. Nasiru Lawal, also presented before the House a bill on “social protection and other matters connected therewith 2021” and it scaled through the first reading.
According to the Director-General, Press Affairs of the House, Comrade Mustapha Jafaru Kaura, the Speaker, Nasiru Mua’zu Magarya commended the lawmaker for sponsoring the bills.
