The Nigeria Football Federation has announced the vacancy for the position of the Super Eagles head coach following the conclusion of Jose Peseiro’s contract in February. With Peseiro’s departure, the federation is actively seeking a replacement who can build on the team’s success, notably their second-place finish at the 2023 African Cup of Nations.
While there were rumors of Austin Eguavoen being appointed as interim manager, NFF President Ibrahim Gusau denied these claims. Additionally, the position of the Golden Eaglets’ Head Coach is also vacant.
The NFF has issued an advertisement on its website inviting applications for the Super Eagles coach, emphasizing the need for candidates with proven elite-level experience. Applications can be submitted via email or through a provided link, with the deadline set for March 12, 2024.
Despite no scheduled matches for the Eagles in the upcoming international free window, the federation faces the task of appointing a new coach before their next World Cup qualifiers in June.
