Fulham have denounced the racist abuse directed at Calvin Bassey following their Emirates FA Cup victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday. After the match, Bassey faced racist and homophobic attacks on social media. “We strongly condemn this abhorrent behaviour which has no place in football or society. Bassey netted the opening goal late in the first half. United's captain, Bruno Fernandes, leveled the score 19 minutes from time. With the match ending 1-1 after extra time, Fulham triumphed 4-3 in the penalty shootout.
