Omokri Vows To Dismantle Obidient Movement
Political commentator and former presidential aide Reno Omokri has vowed to dismantle the Obidient movement, citing personal threats and a fallout with Peter Obi as his reasons. Speaking on Breakfast Central on Thursday, Omokri denied allegations that his opposition to Obi and his supporters is driven by personal vendetta. He instead highlighted his past role in Obi’s political ascent and explained how his disillusionment led him to adopt a firm stance. “I took a vow to destroy that movement because Peter Obi was a project of mine,” Omokri stated, recalling his efforts in shaping Obi’s national prominence. According to him, alongside Senator Ben Murray-Bruce and a former president, he played a key role in securing Obi’s position as Atiku Abubakar’s running mate in the 2019 presidential election. “I was responsible for Peter Obi becoming the running mate to Waziri Atiku Abubakar in 2019. “I’ve said this publicly. I’ve got the documents. I’m a meticulous record keeper,” he claimed. While Obi’s abrupt exit from the People’s Democratic Party without consulting his backers caused some friction, Omokri said the real turning point was the conduct of Obi’s supporters. “Peter Obi’s movement, Obidients, started attacking me, threatening me, insulting me. That was OK. “But then they moved from myself to my family. I just had a daughter at that time. There were multiple death threats,” he alleged, revealing that the harassment escalated into real-life encounters. “They came to my house in the United Kingdom. They trailed my wife and me when we were jogging. “They found out my jogging route and pursued me, threatening me,” he further alleged. Omokri stated that he contacted Obi, hoping for his intervention. However, he alleged that the former Labour Party presidential candidate declined to condemn a specific individual associated with the threats. Omokri made a firm decision, saying, “I had to deploy whatever political machinery I have to destroy that movement.”

Delta APC Rejects Waive’s Call to Adopt Oborevwori As Guber Candidate
The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed a proposal by House of Representatives member Francis Waive to adopt Governor Sheriff Oborevwori as its candidate for the 2027 gubernatorial election. Waive recently urged the party to make Oborevwori its sole candidate for the race. However, in a statement signed by its Publicity Secretary, Valentine Onojeghuo, the APC distanced itself from his remarks, clarifying that they were his personal opinion and did not represent the party’s position. The party reaffirmed its commitment to a transparent and competitive selection process, ensuring that its 2027 candidate reflects the people's aspirations for genuine change. “We wish to state unequivocally that Waive’s position is purely his personal opinion and does not reflect the stance of Delta APC, its leadership, or the generality of its members,” the statement read. The party criticized Governor Oborevwori’s administration, describing it as a “monumental disappointment” and accusing it of financial recklessness and a lack of developmental progress. “Despite receiving over ₦2 trillion in federal allocations, the Oborevwori administration has failed to deliver any meaningful infrastructural, economic or social advancements for the people of Delta State” Reaffirming its commitment to unseating the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, the APC emphasized that it has “an array of eminently qualified and capable individuals who will offer Deltans a viable and credible alternative in 2027. The Delta APC urged its members and the general public to disregard Waive’s statement, maintaining its determination to “rescue Delta State from the shackles of misrule and the failures of the PDP-led administration.” it stated.

Yar’adua Ordered Me To Step Down MKO Abiola~ Atiku Reveals Details Of SDP Primaries
Former PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, revealed that his late political mentor, Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, instructed him to step down for MKO Abiola, the acclaimed winner of the 1993 presidential election. According to Atiku, Yar’Adua gave this directive during the Social Democratic Party (SDP) primaries. He shared this in an interview with Adesuwa Giwa-Osagie on Untold Stories. The former Vice President also stated that SDP governors had threatened to withdraw their support if Abiola chose him as running mate instead of Babagana Kingibe. He said: “I think there have been some misinterpretation or misrepresentation of what actually happened, even though I had in the past addressed the circumstances surrounding that incident. “So I told him, ‘Look, if you don’t come to Jos, there is every likelihood that Kingibe is going to be elected, and I know you don’t want it. So you better come to Jos, no matter how late.’ “And he drove all the way from Kaduna to Jos. By the time he came to Jos, it was about three or four a.m. And he called for a meeting in Kwande’s house. I do not know what he discussed with the late MKO Abiola. “I was not privy to the meeting, and he did not tell me. But when we got to the meeting in Ambassador Kwande’s house, all he told me was that, ‘Turaki.’ I said, ‘Yes, sir.’ He said, ‘Step down for MKO Abiola.’ I said, ‘Okay, sir. I have stepped down.” The election which saw MKO Abiola emerging as the winner was annulled by the the regime of former military Head of State, Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida, IBB.

APC Told To Adopt Oborevwori As 2027 Candidate
Rt. Hon. (Rev) Francis Ejiroghene Waive, the representative of Ughelli North, Ughelli South, and Udu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has called on the Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to back Governor Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori as its sole gubernatorial candidate for the 2027 elections. Speaking to journalists during the week, Hon. Waive highlighted Governor Oborevwori’s strong ties with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a testament to his governance expertise. He also praised the governor’s performance, stating, “Gov Sheriff has surprised every Deltan with his people-oriented programs and quality projects.” According to Hon. Waive, “It will be impossible for any other candidate to beat Gov Sheriff come 2027,” adding that his coming to APC is value addition and that this will bring an immediate end to the crisis engulfing the party in the State. “I can see Gov Sheriff Oborevwori and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu coasting to victory on the APC ticket. This synergy is what APC Delta needs at this moment. Not only will this bring peace to the party, it will make victory very certain. The lawmaker further highlighted that the principle of governorship rotation among Delta’s three senatorial districts favors Oborevwori, who would be serving only one more term. He called on all Deltans to support this move, emphasizing that it would strengthen party unity and enhance the state’s development. “I want victory for my party and for President Tinubu. This is the way to go. Moreover the rotation of the Governorship between the three Senatorial Districts favors Governor Sheriff who has only one term left. I call on all Deltans to support this move as it will further unite us as a people,” he added.

Akpabio Is Corrupt, Known For Abusing Women Even As Governor~ Atiku
Former PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar has labeled Senate President Godswill Akpabio as corrupt. Atiku alleged that Akpabio is a corrupt leader with a record of mistreating women. The former Vice President made these remarks in reaction to sexual harassment claims against Akpabio and the National Assembly’s endorsement of President Bola Tinubu’s state of emergency declaration in Rivers State. In an interview with Adesuwa Giwa-Osagie of Untold Stories, Atiku said: “Not only is he corrupt, but he is also in the habit of abusing women. “I was not surprised that the state of emergency passed in the National Assembly because I know that the leadership is corrupt, and I have no apologies for saying that. They could do anything. “The Senate President has been known for such behavior even when he was a governor.” Kogi Central Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan recently accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio of sexual harassment. She alleged that Akpabio victimized her and denied her certain privileges after she rejected his advances. Amid these accusations, President Bola Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State, citing the escalating political crisis between Governor Sim Fubara and his predecessor, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike. The conflict intensified within the state House of Assembly, despite a Supreme Court ruling. Martins Amaewhule reportedly blocked Fubara from presenting the 2025 budget at the Assembly complex. As tensions grew, Tinubu suspended Fubara for six months, imposed a state of emergency, and appointed a sole administrator. The National Assembly later approved the president’s decision.
